Dictation in FrenchBETA
Dictation is a great way for you to practice your comprehension, fluency and literacy in a language. In this particular case, listening to proper French as it is spoken gives you a good feel for how this particular language approaches sentence structure, syntax and grammar. In short, dictation makes for an effective way to learn the French language.
We happen to offer dozens of French language dictations online and with an automatic evaluation system that allows you to learn and improve without a teacher or assistant.
How does it work?
- Listen to the audio file. This will feature a native speaker reading a text twice. The first reading will be at normal conversational speed; the second reading will be slower so that you may properly dictate the sentence.
- Record your dictation in the text field. Feel free to replay the mp3 of the particular sentence to improve your dictation.
- When you are finished, click the button at the bottom of the page to submit your finished text for automatic evaluation.
- The evaluation will check and correct your text, if needed. This allows you to see your mistakes and receive a final score.
