Formazione dell'avverbio
Per formare avverbi francesi dagli aggettivi, spesso si aggiunge la desinenza "-ment" alla forma femminile dell'aggettivo. Ad esempio, "heureux" (felice) diventa l'avverbio "heureusement" (felicemente). Se l'aggettivo termina in "-ant" o "-ent," la desinenza cambia in "-amment" o "-emment," come "constant" (costante) a "constamment" (costantemente) e "évident" (ovvio) a "évidemment" (ovviamente). Tuttavia, ci sono alcune forme irregolari che devono essere memorizzate.
